DEI Committee Volunteers Needed

Hello parents! As this year is now in full gear, we would love to invite you all to learn about the GW DEI Committee. We are a parent volunteer group working together to bring diversity, equity and inclusion for all students in our school community. We have been hard at work planning some exciting ideas with Mr. Monahan. At our first meeting, our committee members came up with some great ideas. We need your help gathering links, resources and helpful ideas for our faculty! Parents who are excited to help execute new initiatives for our school, please take a look below and read about what we want to achieve this year at GW. Please Sign Up Here to Volunteer! Please indicate which groups interest you.

  1. Student Advisory: Student Advisory is a monthly meeting with small groups that work to build character through Social and Emotional Learning (SEL). This committee will build up a file of resources for faculty to reference when choosing their Advisory themes and activities. The idea is to weave in DEI topics into this program through interactive games, exercises and discussions. Check out the Team Building Ice Breakers for Advisory and DEI Advisory links and resources. Please contribute links and resources that resonate with you. We need 2-3 parents to manage the lists; all are welcome to contribute

  2. Community Service: 7th graders will need to fulfill 10 hours of community service hours this year. Please take a look and contribute to community service ideas.
